Food Notes: the first free-style attempt at a curry was total fail. I managed to salvage it somewhat with noodles, salt, and brown sugar and turned it into a soup, but even as far as first non-recipe attempts go, this was totally lame. I made Pad Thai! Well, my own attempt at it anyway, with what ingredients I could find. I used a pre-made sauce (which I won't next time), and thin spaghetti noodles instead of rice noodles, with diced carrots, chicken, and green onion, bean sprouts, scrambled egg, and crushed peanuts. Tea Notes: I don't know if I mentioned this, but Imperial Garden is, as far as I know, the best Chinese restaurant (yes: restaurant in that traditional sense of the word, not a fast food joint) in the area, even if they do serve broccoli instead of bok choy, which, according to my mother, is a SIN.
